I believe Dumbledore has kicked the bucket. Harry may converse with his portrait, I suppose, but I don't know if there would be another portrait than there was at Hogwarts in Dumbledore's former office, if Harry really does not return to Hogwarts.
That and Snape sucks. I concede that there may be an explanation for his behavior that may make him not look like a total a-hole, but he still sucks.
