The only thing that keeps it from being a winner in my book is that it is still too true to the original. Not Bob's Springsteen entry suffers the same flaw. A parody needs to be true to the mood of the peice, yet have lyrics better adapted to the subject of the parody.
It's a fine line, one I have never been able to walk myself. But I applaud your effort.
