Well, the distance has to be temporary if and only if you decide the relationship has legs. Being in an LDR for 3-4 months is good b/c it gives you time to decide if you really like the person or not and, if not, it provides a convenient excuse to get out.

What I'm saying is go for it. Try it out for a few months and see if your feelings are more than just fleeting. If they grow some roots, then realize that someone will have to move before too long.
