Back in about 1981, I drove past that place with a friend and was a fixin' to try to eat that steak. I went in and found out that if you didn't eat the whole dinner, you had to shell out $24.99. My friend acted like that was a million dollars (back then none of us could get approved for credit cards) and talked me out of it. We wound up eating a $5 steak at some truck stop up the road. He was like the goose that laid the golden egg "See that? I found us a steak that was just $5!"
