I disagree. In my view, divorce is not something you should threaten unless you mean it. My husband used to threaten it all the time, and then back off. Actually, he used to say "you want a divorce, don't you" when I didn't. It's like the capital punishment of marriage, and can fuck things up when you cry wolf with it.
Totally just my $.02. I just know that if I ever get married again, it's going to be off-limits when fighting, unless of course we actually are going to get divorced.
