The rule means you can "cheat" even though you're playing with friends and it's not wrong. Cheating is wrong, but crossing a line on rules hoping the ump/ref doesn't call something isn't cheating.

Agreed. Getting in the way of a double play is like Gaylord Perry or Phil Neikro scuffing the ball or throwing vaseline coated spitters back in the day. Its like Brett with the pine tar an inch too high.
