This summer is the first time in my working life that I've found the office A/C bearable. But usually I want to bring fingerless gloves because the air is so cold it makes my hands hurt, and because I have always wanted to look like a newspaper vendor.
Also, I don't understand why offices are configured so that the vents are directly over the desk, so that the cold air blows on your back regardless of how your office is configured. The air should be less direct.
Modern office configurations suck. One of my main reasons for wanting to be a college professor was the idea of working in an old building with windows that opened and shut where I could bring my dog to work.
