Also, there was no BlackBerry during most of Harry's time at Hogwarts. RIM didn't release the BlackBerry until 1998. The Harry Potter stories take place from 1991 through 1998. The reason Potter obsessives know this is because the "death day" party for Nearly Headless Nick in the second book celebrated the 500th anniversary of Nick's botched beheading. The execution took place in 1492. Therefore, the party, and Harry's second year at Hogwarts, occurred in 1992. The seventh book, if it follows the form of the first six, will span 1997-1998. Maybe a first generation BlackBerry will play a significant role in the defeat of the Dark Lord. We'll see.
