Everyone but the British guy says it should be "lack of strength" or "lack of depth" or "lack of strength and depth". The British guy even came to me before he sent out his e-mail to ask if I've heard the phrase. I said I hadn't, but he may want to google it.
(At least the UK dude knows I'm the answer man.)

Won't your husband become insanely (and dangerously) jealous if he finds out there's a British dude on your desk? I'm sure you're just using him as a paperweight or something, but, you know, appearances, and all that. I guess it's better than a British guy under your desk, but still...
