US Open draw
Query - how does the US Open draw work? In particular, why are the seeds not placed in the bracket as per tradition (or at least the NCAA) so that 1 plays 32, 2 plays 31, 3 plays 30, etc. (in the round of 32, obviously changing from there, and assuming seeds win)? Is this a fairly new rule? Why--so that there's no "gaming" of seeds to avoid certain players?
