I was up past my bedtime last night and ran across Boogie Nights. It was the scene where Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character, Scotty, makes the awkard pass at Dirk Diggler and is rejected. Scotty is left alone in the car that he'd bought to impress Dirk, and starts blubbering uncontrollably, repeating "I'm a fucking idiot!" over and over while pounding his hands on the steering wheel. Scotty is at that moment completely alone in the world, humiliated, miserable, and pathetic.
I picture you as having many of these moments.
