Speaking of which, I recently glanced at a cookbook written by caterers that sort of gave some tricks of the trade, and they said that for the most part, it's more cost effective to go with a full bar than to serve just wine at a party, since you can get about 15 or so drinks out of a fifth and only five glasses out of a bottle. The book also noted that at nighttime weddings caterers serve about three times as much alcohol than they do at regular parties.
