Hank: the Detroit suburbs are a breath of fresh air compared to effing Schaumburg. Actually, the Detroit suburbs are amazingly nice given what they surround.

We have the inverse metro areas, you and I. I had a friend who lived in whatever city Wayne's World was set in. We drove out from downtown Chicago to see them one night at like 7. Traffic jams most of the way. Imagine real rush hour. Sitting for hours is no way to live. Contrast Detroit suburbs which are the perfect place to live day to day.
But we don't have a city, so you win.
