Why the Sudden Interest?!?

I do use my husband's name for the kids' school stuff (e.g., when I signed up for a parent/teacher conference today, I used my first and his last name), but it's not "official" or anything. Is this really all that strange?
It is not strange and I would advise all married professionals to keep their own name, especially if they earned their degrees prior to marriage. I know a lot of people who did this.

Also, plenty of people are "Dr. Maiden" and "Mrs. Husband," or even just "My Name" who is married to "The Husband," without any legal name change.

Even without having legally changed my name upon getting married, dropping the alias upon divorce was difficult.
