Wht trauma did you suffer in the snows of your youth? I acutally miss winter. Big warm clothes, the crispy crunch of the fresh snow under your shoes, the strange muted quiet of an outdoor snowy night in a normally loud and bustling place. Fireplaces and hot toddies. It sucks in Feb to March but that's only two months and two months of rain in Cal isnt that much greter of an option.
Did you get frostbite or lose a snowman building contest? Pass out in a snowdrift like Eleanor Mondale?

You are delusional if you think that winters in the Northeast are somehow comparable to rain in Southern California. If you love winter so much, go back to it. There is not a single day of my life that I miss snow/sleet/frost/freezing temperatures. Yes, Dallas is a climate upgrade from upstate New York. Yes, LA is a climate upgrade from Dallas. If this doesn't work out, either Honolulu or Cabo is next for me.
