I don't know any trendy people. I can only speak of the very few experiences I have with it.
But I think you need a true VIP section in a hot bar for that to mean anything to the trendies. If they skip the line but are still outside the ropes once they're in the club, what's the point? If being VIP means anything to you (besides the blowjobs handed out by the model wannabes who want to suck a somebody's dick), that's where you want to be seen.
