The sperm bank visitor is a woman who has given up finding a guy she'd like to raise a kid with. She wants the kid- not the man.
The mail order bride husband has given up finding a woman, and so he tries to buy one. He wants the woman, if a kid come okay. If he just wanted a kid he'd get a surrogate. I think he is the more desparate.
The one wild card is that the M.O.B. husband might be trying for a level of dutifullness not typically found from the US raised girl, although that may be more from the Phillipines. My bil married a filipino. He is a bum who can't work. She has a job. We were visiting and she got up to make him breakfast before she went to work and he starts watching TV.
I'm not sure you can pull that kind of arrangement from home grown.
