She's not super religious or intolerant, and I've never really asked why she went the homeschool route instead of the normal school route. But the kids seem ok.

I don't think the point is that home-schooled kids are by default completely screwed up (although I bet the lack of real world socializing increases the percentages of wackjobs).
I think the point is that it is easier to turn your kids into complete psychos because you are able to limit their exposure to other ideas.
