I believe you are correct, but the demo party line talking points memo is to defend those properly accused communists. Along with rapists, murderers, perjurers, radical islamists, palestinian homocide bombers and klansmen, the commie fifth columnists are part of the big tent inclusiveness on the DNC plantation.
