With the exception of losing a good portion of my roof tiles and having the large ficus tree in front of my house land on my garage, the Brazenette and I came through Wilma relatively unbattered. My high speed internet connection is not working at the moment, so I am having to use a dial-up connection which means no access to IM at the moment.
I will confess that of the 7 or so hurricanes I've ridden out, this was the only one that scared me. I'd prefer to never again hear some of the sounds I heard (like my neighbor's satellite dish smashing into my living room window... thank goodness for hurricane shutters) and I never hope to see my driveway flooded all the way to the garage again. Mostly, I'd like never to have a discussion about the availability of ice and gasoline with anyone ever again...
Still, I am incredibly lucky. I will not make the deductible on my hurricane policy and that is something to celebrate.
(And there's still like 25 days left in hurricane season. *Sigh*)
