Sure, as would I. But I take a somewhat longer view that the lex talionis perhaps is quite costly in the long run. As much as I'd like to kill anyone who raped my wife immediately, I recognize that as a civilization of civilized people we actually are better off by committing that responsibility to the state.

In war, if an enemy combatant shoots your wife on the battlefield, it's okay to shoot back.
Also, I am fairly certain that it is the State that is running the black sites.
