My father was a big user of the outdoor refrigerator, particularly around Thanksgiving, although it's good for a big pot of soup too. The house I grew up in had a huge screened-in porch though.
Where I live now has an unscreened porch. Last year I did a lot of Christmas baking and I stored the cookies out on my porch in tins. I ran out of tins and couldn't find more to buy, despite checking in at least a half dozen stores. So I used a tin with a loose lid to store some maple walnut shortbreads. Big mistake for me but a happy Christmas indeed for the squirrel(s)!
