There are problems with this statement.

1. Paigow makes many claims about her rights and how she is treated on this board. The last one was serious. The admins and mods do not act based on one version of the story. And, as has been the case since this board was started, a discussion is being had at how best to handle the situation. Paigow gets pissed and throws out ultimatums because she is offended. I, among others, told her to take it easy until we found out what happened and could come up with a solution that everyone is okay with.

You're framing it solely from her point of view. "But it's my understanding that she asked to be deleted because none of the moderators or administrators on this board would promise her that her posts would not be altered to include information that she finds offensive and/or potentially outable." This is misleading.

2. The next problem is the following: "she finds offensive and/or potentially outable."

First of all, I don't give a shit about what she finds offensive. But to the extent that her (or anyone's) posts or profile is being edited by an admin or a mod, I have a problem with it. I think that's out of bounds.

Second of all, there is no one objective standard for what is outable. Is collecting information that people have put in their own posts and posting it in one place be defined as outable? Some may think so. Is paigow's (or any person's who is the subject of an outable post) standard of what is outable what is key? Can we come up with an objective standard? These are all questions that should be discussed. But I don't think we're going to come up with a bright-line rule. If we could, many more pussies would be flipped.

Not many people would argue with this and your sentiments are exactly what has been relayed. We are now trying to figure out how to proceed so that no one will have a fear of that happening again.

Just a point of information: in what role are you part of the "we" which is working on a solution? Are you a moderator or admin?
