Not necessarily. It may be that the added safety the SUV provides your children may outweigh the added risks it creates, but the calculus becomes complex when one adds in other factors, such as the added terrorism risk to your children because you bought an SUV, which thereby increased our reliance on Saudi oil, which increased the likelihood that your kids will be killed in a 9/11-type attack.
Only time will tell, and I won't be here to see the result. Neither will the kids I'm not going to have. That's why I'm going out in a hedonistic blaze of glory.
But I'm sure your kids think you're an idiot, if that makes you feel better.
