To me it sounds wrong--the Man should give you that stuff. Don't many bigger law partnerships even give allowances to new partners to furnish their digs?
Anyway, I'd go get stuff that you like and would want to take with you. To start, I'd check prices on the internet, and then go back to the firm and ask them how much they're willing to raise their offer to cover the furniture expenses. Then decide whether they've raised their offer enough to command your loyalty.
