What I learned on NPR this morning
Punkin' Chunkin' is an event not to be missed next year.
My favorite quote from the NPR piece, and possibly from any article ever, is from a physics professor from Virginia who came this year to observe the goings on: "People will quote over 600 miles an hour. Now the speed of sound is 760 miles an hour. So we're talking near sonic speeds for a vegetable. That's impressive in itself."
