As for UCLA, there is no dispute that they have a better looking student body, but: (1) you have to live in LA; (2) your degree is Berkeley-lite. In fact, UCLA was originally called UCSB - University of California, Southern Branch. This is also why their school song is the same as Cal's, why their mascot is a pale version of the Bear, and why their colors are pale versions of Cal's Blue and Gold.

I have no idea why I started a discussion about the relative merits of California schools. I sort of thought of it as a joke, I think. But thank you for your reasoned and analytical response. I will file that under "Give A Flying Fuck (I Don't)".
Although I did mention to someone last week that I thought it odd that both Cal and UCLA had bear mascots. Maybe I should file under "Give A Flying Fuck (I Shouldn't)".
So which has the better football program? I kid! I don't really want to know.
