If I thought European newspapers were likely to be suppressing the notion that there's a problem with radical Islam, I'd be a lot more sympathetic to the view that these cartoons needed to be published. But it's not like this is a strange concept that's in danger of not being heard. Pointing out that there's a lot of violence committed in the name of Islam is not exactly a sacred cow.
