Isn't "swarthy" a description for Pirates? I've never been to the Middle East, but I don't imagine people from the region as pirate-like. But this could be a generalization. They may have a robust Pirate community of which I am not aware, being a racist and all.* (Which by definition, would meanthey have a rubost gay community, which I'm fairly certain, outside of Israel, they do not.)**
