But while the clock is running, it is perfectly OK, in fact encouraged, to hit a player on the opposing team as hard as you can, above the knees. So long as you do not kill him. Sure you'll get the occasional Jim McMahon career ending body slam, but in all, perfectly legal.

Can you maybe explain in a bit more detail what the point is you are trying to make? I am pretty sure I don't care, but I want to make sure.
