I would, but it appears that Ms. Gap and I are going to see Pirates of the Carribean this weekend. (With a $130 Gazillion opening weekend, we were possibly the only couple in America who didn't see it last week).
I've heard from various people that (a) it's about 45 mins too long, (b) it lacks the sense of fun that the original had, (c) it was largely "a non-stop audio and visual assault on the senses." Charming. What say you folks?
Keep in mind, even if it's as bad as whatever that crappy TV show fiasco's wife make him watch, I will still be seeing this movie. Ms. Gap is such a Depp fan that it really doesn't matter what the movie is like, just that he's in it. (To give you a sense of perspective, she thought he was sexy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.) The man could spend two hours on film staring into crystals, drooling and rending his hair and she would be quite content.

I loved it. I'm planning on going to see it again this weekend with both kids because last week it was just me and the Monster. Princess was off with her boyfriend (Thurgreed, after you shoot Sidd and Fringey can I borrow your gun?).
I wasn't bored for a minute. The characters were developed more in this one than they were in the first one. The special effects were cool, and I'm someone who generally finds special effects to be a pretty lame way to try and prop up a movie. The Wonk Monster's eyes were wide open with amazement through much of the movie.
There's even a surprise ending that actually comes as a surprise. True, it's just a blatant setup for the third installment but so what? I am going to see the third one anyway.
