This brings up a question: do we bathe too much? I bathe twice a day (due to running in the evenings), but I always feel like I'm washing off essential oils that (a) protect my skin from the sun; (b) protect my skin from drying out; (c) protect my skin from insects, etc.
The oils are produced for a reason, right? Don't they serve as a natural sunscreen?
Of course, I'm a greasy eye-talian, so maybe I need to bathe twice a day.

I thought the oils only performed the second of your three functions. But then again, I am Irish and pale. So maybe it is just me that gets no natural protection from the sun.
