Reading about Maurice Clarrett's latest legal troubles makes me sad for him. Sure he's a goon and a thug, but if not for the Second Circuit determining that he wasn't eligible for the 2004 Draft, he might have straightened himself out via the structure provided by whoever drafted him. This crap about mugging people for their cell phones, driving around with guns in his car and a half-full bottle of vodka, it's sad.
On the other hand, it's no sadder than a million other similar stories of two-bit criminals who don't have any athletic ability.
