I don't think I ever saw his show, but I love Animal Planet and I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't have survived at first without him.

I read this description of him in the last few hours:

I generally like animals, even most of the icky ones (sans, of course, snakes). Getting people to take a second look at animals in my book is a good thing.
