I highly doubt that is true and I am sure a little googling would show as much, the difference then from now is in the 40s Roosevelt didn't have a fifth column composed of the Rs, the MSM and the blogospherics to uncover and magnify every purported incident of "torture".....rather the Ds and the Rs, and the great patriots of this nation recognised right from wrong and the need for right to overcome wrong.
