I've been looking at all the fancy schmancy new cameras and the ever-shrinking prices and think it may be time to upgrade.
I have a 5.0mp Sony and I love it, but I'd like the image stabilization feature because the crack makes my hands shake and I'd like more than a 3.0 optical zoom as well as the ability to screw with the settings manually. I just saw the
8.1 Sony on sale for less than $300 which is amazing and got good reviews, but it still only has a 3.0 zoom. I like the movie clip feature as well - I use it a lot, but I'd sacrifice it for camera quality and learn to use our video camera instead.
I wouldn't mind sticking with Sony because I already have the memory sticks and I know the basic workings, but even within Sony, there are too many damn choices. However, I'd go with another brand if it made sense.
I'm looking to get the best I can for less than around $5-600 including memory cards - suggestions? Is there a website that neatly rates them?
