My mother installed one in her shower in Colorado because the water was turning her hair green (she is a bleached blonde).
It's the Jonathan one and it screws on in lieu of a showerhead I believe.
I don't know if it changed the texture of her hair but it did stop it turning green.
(It is apparently my day to tell stories about my parents.)
