But seriously, front or back of the house? Going to paint it or just seal/stain it? How far off the ground? How big?
You're okay with using nails for the framing, but the deck, unless you're using tongue and groove, you should use screws. The nails will back out and stand above the surface, which requires more maintenance and isn't really safe.
