Dishwasher
Sorry to jump in late on thread, but I just did a d/w purchase. Most recent Consumer Reports best buy was Kenmore 1603 (obsolete, now Kenmore 1372 from same manufacturer), which was rated by them as quiet as the Boschs, washed as well and was easier to use. Like most other $500 washers, but unlike the Bosch, it has a built-in food disposer, so you don't need to clean the filter. (It doesn't have the stainless tub if you care about that. ) Haven't got it yet, so no firsthand comment, but feel pretty good about research.
