That seems weird. Does your father have an aversion to the American flag or does he think bro is making a statement about Iraq? That said, if bro lives in a suburb, remember that the burbs are full of military bases. Perhaps his friends are military (most of Tacoma, Everett, Bremerton is military) and he's just trying to show solidarity. But it seems to me that just a flag with no "insert your political statement here" phrase is just a picture of a flag. Tell dad to get over it or move to Mexico.
