Alternatively, if you have any appreciation for, or tolerance of, Westerns, Butch Cassidy is a good choice, too. Written by William Goldman (who wrote the delightful novel The Princess Bride, and the movie version, too, I think), it is a most enjoyable flick, yet it has some deeper themes running though it as well.

they made a movie of Choke. watching the trailer, it seems like it might be good. i'd forgotten how weird that book got.
