last time i was in Kyoto, walking up the shopping road leading to Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera, you know the waterfall temple, i saw some Geisha. there were two of them giggling and walking holding hands up towards the temple. I was stoked because Geisha means some sake party would be there and i was thirsty. I didn't find any party, but on the way back down the hill I saw a little store where a few guys were making up ordinary women as geisha. it's like a tourist thing to do, but these were being done by actual Gion make-up people.
Late October is not tourist season in Kyoto. a woman of dtb's means might want to fly one of these guys out to TCOTU for such an important event. i could probably sort out the address.
