 |  As linkage, they're ideal.  Say you want to shovel fifty thoughts into a space that ought to fit twenty...  Ellipses!  You can chop formal sentences down to phrases and create a paragraph that bounds forward where normal language would start/complete thought/finish/start again.  Good way to make shit seamless.
