As for Elf, I have no good reason for its inclusion. The movie basically sucks, but there are so many funny moments that I can't turn it off whenever it comes on. I am not a big Farrell fan, but in some things, he just works. I hated Old School, but loved Anchorman. His wide-eyed, naive overgrown elf character in search of his father after finally finding out he's not an elf is just funny. There are too many "Oooooh! It's like a Christmas Tree," (after pressing all the elevator buttons, "Buddy the Elf! What's your favorite color?" (when he picks up Caan's phone), "I just like to smile, smiling's my favorite!" "Watch out, the yellow ones don't stop!" "I thought maybe we could make ginger bread houses, and eat cookie dough, and go ice skating, and maybe even hold hands," (when discussing his plans for the day with Caan) and "He's an angry elf!" moments--and there are like a hundred of them. As an aside, including all the horror movies I've seen (and I've seen a few), I have never cringed as much as when watching Buddy pull all that used gum off the underside of the subway station entrance structure and stuff it in his mouth.
