It's possible, in fact, that a person does get freaked out by feeling that they he or she may like someone too much. But that only happens when the person is rebounding from a relationship, gets quickly smitten by the first person who expresses interest in him, but is haunted by the completely accurate concern that the person he has fallen for on the rebound is actually a complete dweeb.
