Aretha gets to do whatever she wants at this point. she gains and loses as much a diet Oprah weighs, she wears crazy dresses and all sorts of odd accessories. With Aretha it hasn't been about looking good according to traditional standards in years. she doesn't care. that's how it goes in Detroit.
PS I represented her in a copyright infringement case a million years ago. me and my co-plebe sat dreaming up 200 requests to admit to bury the poor plaintiff and make him drop the case. our goal was that we would meet her at some point. alas, the case settled pre-depo.
