am i paranoid or are they trying to stop soemthing that other patrons find objectionable? if so, isn't that rude to me? I recognize that my behavior is not examplary but wonder who Ms. Manners would find most out of proper norms of restaurant manners.

Is it a good bet that the waiter or bus boy knows exactly where your finger has been? Health code violations are no laughing matter to a restaurant.
