When someone ridicules/attacks someone else, she should be prepared to take the flames that ensue, particulary if she targets one who she knows will flame her pretty harshly. She should not be able to cry for an admin reprieve to escape responsibility for her own reckless comments - and admins should not indulge such whiners. If you insult someone, you know the consequences.
As merely an example of how things should work, I can recall that TM and I had a flame war some time ago which got nasty, but both of us stood our ground. He didn't cry foul and ask for and admin reprieve nor did I (which turned out badly for me because he wound up beating me like a redheaded stepchild, but that's beside the point).
Simply put, ignore should be removed because its only used/abused by those who seek to dish it out but can't take it.*

* Of course, it should still be used to avoid Thottam psosts.

1) it is not just as easy to scroll past all posts bc some people ,ahem , are rather long winded.
2) As resident at large of several ignore liists at some point, including mine which drove you to an insane multi board stalk sessoin, they are not in your best interests.
I know several posters who happily employ them on a stealth basis. And I am pretty sure at least one wont be posting to applaud them. But em digs em.
