If there's a hacker involved, your entry would be defaced, in some form or another, or replaced with an entry that is blank except for some multi-colored gibberish that includes the words "0wn3d," "r00t3d," and, if they are in a pedantic mood, "n00blah." If they are feeling particularly social, they would also include "gr33tz" and "sh0ut0utz" to their "friends." They aren't shy and generally like to take credit for their artwork.
And, if they were inclined to tweak the polling results, they would give some entry 1,000,000 votes or somesuch to really mess up the margins. Or -1,000,000 for that matter.
So no, it's not a hacker.
