But here's the deal. With Jackson, they are at best a 10-6 team, probably 7-9 at worst. With Favre, they could be a 12-4 team, with probably about the same downside (worst case scenario you put him on the bench). I think faced with more mediocrity, it's worth a shot.

I guess I don't see him play every game, so I can't say definitively, but the guy has had 25 career starts. How do you already know that he has peaked? And every quarterback (with maybe a handful of exceptions), panicked early in his career in big situations. The guys who overcame it were given the necessary snaps to get over it.
